Everything you've already tried, and why it let you down

We read hundreds of posts and reviews from people who gave up on the old ways. This is what they said, word for word.

A full ironing board set up with an iron, a spray bottle and a basket of shirts waiting to be ironed
The ironing board
"I loathe having to pull all the equipment out and then wait for everything to cool down."

With RosyIron: Press flat on any table, then put it back in a drawer.

A cheap plastic handheld steamer leaving wet spots on a pink blouse
The cheap steamer
"The cheaper steamers end up spitting water (LOL) and the ones that are high end are the 'professional grade'. They work, are expensive and are NOT small/portable."

With RosyIron: Dry, even steam from a tool that fits in one hand.

A navy dress with wet patches and drips left by a steamer that drips water
The steamer that dripped
"It spits and drip water everywhere."

With RosyIron: Water is heated before it reaches the vents, so it comes out as steam, not drops.

A white dress shirt with a smooth front but a collar that is still wrinkled after steaming
The steamer that can't do collars
"A steamer will not give you the crisp ironed seams that an iron gives you."

With RosyIron: Turn the head flat and the ceramic plate presses like an iron.

A pink silk blouse with a brown scorch mark from an iron that was too hot
The fear for good silk
"Handheld steamers either burned me or just left my clothes wet."

With RosyIron: A named Silk setting, the gentlest heat on the display.

An old hotel iron with a scaled, stained soleplate leaking water onto the ironing board
The hotel iron
"I can probably count with one hand the hotels I've stayed at that had a functioning non-leaking iron that actually works."

With RosyIron: Bring your own. It travels in its hard case.

One tool, three jobs

Everything your iron, board and steamer did, in one hand

Most homes keep three things for smooth clothes. RosyIron does the work of all three, and fits in a drawer.

++=
The ironing board

No more unfolding, adjusting and folding it away. Press flat on any table.

The iron

A ceramic plate presses collars, cuffs and trousers just as crisply.

The plastic steamer

Dry steam smooths blouses and dresses on the hanger, without the drips.

Replaced by one SteamerPro 2-in-1, ready in about 15 seconds.

Our story

Three steamers, two years, and one refusal to settle

RosyIron didn't start in a lab. It started in a closet, with a favorite top and a steamer that spat hot water across it.

"Each one let me down in a different way. One left water streaks, one spat hot water onto a top I loved, and one dripped the whole time I used it."

"I didn't invent a new technology. I just refused to accept what was already out there."

SophieFounder, RosyIron
Every sample had to pass four tests
  • 1Steam a silk top without a single drop
  • 2Press a cotton collar flat and crisp
  • 3Feel solid and comfortable in the hand
  • 4Be ready in seconds, not minutes
Most didn't. The SteamerPro did.
  1. Three cheap plastic handheld steamers on a shelf, one tipped over and leaking water
    Chapter one

    The ruined top

The first steamer spat hot water onto a top Sophie loved. The second left streaks down every shirt. The third dripped from the first minute to the last. Three machines, two years, and not one she trusted near silk.

  2. A bulky commercial garment steamer next to a small plastic handheld steamer
    Chapter two

    Two bad options

The steamers that truly worked were bulky commercial machines. Everything else asked you to live with the drips and the damp patches. Sophie wasn't willing to do either.

  3. A row of rough prototype steamers on a design studio table, with one chosen
    Chapter three

    A year of saying no

She spent over a year testing prototypes with manufacturers. Any sample that gave off wet steam, felt cheap in the hand or couldn't press a collar flat was sent straight back.

  4. The RosyIron SteamerPro standing beside a smooth, neatly folded silk top
    Chapter four

    The one that passed

Dry steam, a ceramic plate that presses like an iron, and seven settings from silk to linen, all in one hand. The SteamerPro was the first one she was proud to call RosyIron.

1200 watts of steam that stays dry

Water is heated inside the body before it ever reaches the vents, so what reaches your clothes is a fine, dry steam that relaxes the fibers instead of soaking them. No spitting, no damp patches, and no water rings on silk.

Signature details

Six details most steamers skip

Small things, until you've used a steamer without them.

Ceramic Glide Plate

A large ceramic plate that presses collars and cuffs like an iron.

Most handheld steamers only steam, through a small nozzle.

DrySteam Chamber

1200 watts heat the water inside the body, so what leaves the vents is dry steam.

Many spit or drip, especially as they cool.

7-Fabric Select

Seven settings named on the display, from Silk to Linen, so you never guess the heat.

Many offer one or two heat levels.

Low-Water Stop

When the tank runs low the steam pauses and the Lack of water light comes on.

Many give no warning at all.

PivotPress Head

The head turns 90 degrees, from steaming on the hanger to pressing on the table.

Most work in one position only.

15-Second Start

Ready in about 15 seconds, faster than it takes to find a hanger.

Popular handheld steamers can take 30 to 40 seconds.

Why people are switching to RosyIron

Most handheld steamers only steam, and many take 30 to 40 seconds to heat up. RosyIron steams and presses, and it's ready in about 15 seconds.

The questions everyone asks

The honest answers, including the ones other brands leave out.

See all 21 questions

Is it just another weak steamer?

It's 1200 watts of dry steam, and when steam alone isn't enough you turn the head flat and press. Heavy cotton collars get the plate. Light wrinkles on the hanger get the steam.

Will it spit water on my good blouse?

The water is heated inside the body before it reaches the vents, so what comes out is dry steam. Wait for your setting to light up before you start, and it won't sputter.

Will it scorch my silk?

Choose Silk on the display and it uses its gentlest heat. Keep the plate moving, or steam silk on the hanger from a little distance. Our fabric guide below shows every setting.

Will my wrist get tired?

It's light enough to hold through a whole wardrobe, and when you press, the table carries the weight, not your arm.

Does it switch itself off?

No, and we'd rather tell you now. When you're done, rest it on its heat-resistant mat and unplug it. It's the habit we use ourselves.

Why pay more than a $40 steamer?

You may find steamers that look similar for less. Ours is the one Sophie chose after a year of testing, and it comes with 30 days to try it at home, up to 2 years of warranty and real people to help. If it isn't better than what you've used, send it back.

I honestly bought this because I was tired of my clothes looking wrinkled every morning. This heats up super fast and the steam is dry, not dripping everywhere like my old steamer. I use it almost daily now and it saves me so much time.

For everyday clothes, yes. Steam shirts, blouses and dresses on the hanger, then lay collars, cuffs and trousers on a table and press them flat, just like an iron but without the board.
Fill the 80 ml tank with water and plug it in. Press the button until the display shows your fabric, and it heats to the right setting in about 15 seconds. Hold it upright to steam on the hanger, or lay the garment on a table and press it flat.
It's light in the hand, and when you press flat it rests on the table, so the table takes the weight instead of your wrist. You can set it down on its heat-resistant mat whenever you want a break.
About 20 minutes of steam, which is enough for several outfits. Refilling takes a few seconds.
Lay the shirt flat, open it up and press the button strip from the inside, working around each button. It's much easier than reaching it on the hanger.
